On view at Museum Ludwig through August 12
Haegue Yang will share about some of her diverse interests and the extensive research into a wide range of sources behind her practice. Diaspora, which Yang calls ‘dispersion,’ biographies, socio-political and psychological readings of figures and events in history are but a few ofher interests. These feed the restless mutation of her practice and its never-settled movement between history and the present. Not only does she oppose the conventional approach of seeking to master a material, she unceasingly resists a grand, singular narrative for a practice based on her analysis of our time and environment.
In 2018, the Gesellschaft für Moderne Kunst recognized Haegue Yang with the Wolfgang Hahn Prize. The Museum Ludwig showcases the artist’s first-ever survey exhibition.
Entrance is free. Please register via anmeldung@gesellschaft-museum-ludwig.de until June 25, 2018.
