John Knight lives in Los Angeles and works in situ. Recent solo exhibitions include The Intermission, Piraeus, Greece (2019); Ordet, Milan (2019); CCA Gallery, Kitakyushu (2019); Établissement d'en face, Brussels (2018); the Cultuurcentrum, Strombeek (2017); Cabinet, London (2016); REDCAT, Los Angeles (2016); Greene Naftali, New York (2015); Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago (2015); Cabinet Gallery at Fitzpatrick-Leland House, Los Angeles (2014); Portikus, Frankfurt (2013); and Espai d’art contemporani de Castelló, Castellón, Spain (2008).


His public artworks are installed at the Storm King Art Center, Mountainville, New York (1998); The Hague’s Center for Visual Arts, The Hague, Netherlands (1991); FRAC Centre, Orléans, France (1990); and FRAC Rhône-Alpes, Lyon, France (1989). Select public collections include the Art Institute of Chicago; Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; and the Museum der Moderne Salzburg.
